Administration – helping with administration and ensuring the smooth operation and delivery of administrative services for the Games and all Games participants (Competitors, Spectators, Visitors & Officials). This includes tasks such as customer service, filing, mail, lost and found property, equipment/supplies maintenance etc.
Operations – helping with operations and logistics services for the Games such as facilities establishment, goods/equipment delivery and participant transport. This includes tasks such as collating, moving, delivering and relocating goods and equipment at the various sports venues and other Games venues.
Registration & Accreditation – helping to ensure the smooth operation and delivery of registration and accreditation services for all Games participants. This includes tasks such as administrative support, data entry, materials preparation and information dissemination as well as assistance with the preparation and distribution of participant Registration Packs and accreditation passes.
Sports – helping to ensure the smooth operation and delivery of the Sport Program for the Games including providing support/assistance to the Sports organisers and assisting in the processing of sports results and publication on the 2016 ADG website.
Workforce – helping with the smooth operation and delivery of workforce services for the Games workforce (Volunteers, Sport Convenors/Committees, Officials etc.). This includes general administrative support as well as assistance in managing role allocations, rosters, training information and accreditation information.
Marketing & Media – assistance with Games media and marketing services to ensure the smooth operation and delivery of these services for Games participants, stakeholders and attending media. This includes tasks such as assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Games Media Centre and contributing content to social media and newsletters etc.
There are a variety of volunteer roles available in the above areas each requiring different skills and experience. For all roles, volunteers should be:
> Positive, reliable and respectful of other volunteers, participants & visitors
> Team players with a “team focused” attitude
> Strong communicators with good observation and listening skills
> Willing to contribute and “go the extra mile”
> Great ambassadors for the 17th Australian Deaf Games
All volunteers will be required to attend a Volunteer Information & Training Session, including appropriate Deaf Awareness Training.
